Valentine's Day 2014

Valentine's Day is Ellington's FAVORITE holiday!  She loooves it!  We started off the day with a few little treats!  Ellington was so ready for the day!

Just the Three of Us

Robert had the week before he started his new job off so that we could get some things situated and enjoy a little time together!  On Thursday of that week (which has now been several weeks ago!) we had a special morning with our biggest girl.  Finley's class at school had an opening that day so we took her so that she could stay on her little schedule without us having to worry about her nap.  Ellington was really excited about our morning.  We didn't tell her what we were doing and gave her clues in between each stop so that she could guess the next place we were going.

Other than when we went to see Frozen, this is the first time that the three of us have been somewhere together since Finley was born.  It was so special having this time with Ellington!

Our next stop was Campus Bookmart...our favorite little bookstore downtown!  

I told Ellington that she could pick out any Valentine's book that she wanted as a little treat.  Of course she chose a Dora book.  Ah!  I am not a Dora fan and we certainly don't buy Dora merchandise but I did tell her she could pick any one so I let her get it.  We also got my pick which was a little more of what I had in mind. :)

Next was the BIG SURPRISE.  We went to "open gym" at the local gymnastics place.  We've only been a few times so this was a real treat for Ellington!  She was sooooo excited!!!

We had such a fun morning with our biggest girl!  It was nice to not have to worry about nap, diapers, and nursing for one morning. :)  

Daddy also gave Finley lots of extra snuggles before he had to leave!

A couple of weeks ago Ellington dressed up and I said, "Ellington let me take your picture". This is what happened...

I mean...where does she get that from??!! Ha!  It is certainly NOT from me.  

No matter where it comes from, I LOVE this sweet and spunky little girl!!!

Finley {7 Months}

I think it's about time that I did Finley's 7 month post...especially since she turned 7 months on Feb. 2 and it is now Feb. 21! I will need to do her 8 month post SOON! Ha!

This year is FLYING by!  Can ya'll believe this sweet girls is 7 months old?!

Finley, what are you up to at 7 months old?

You wear size 9 month clothes and size 3 diaper.

You usually take one nap in the morning and one nap in the afternoon.  Occasionally you need a 3rd nap, but not always.  

You go to bed around 7:30 pm and wake up for the day around 6:30 am.  You still wake up frequently throughout the night.

You roll right to your back if you are placed on your tummy.

You sit up for a few seconds.

You still don't like baby food at all so we don't push it.  You seem to be growing just fine. :)

You respond to your name!

You have started noticing Gus (our dog) and you love watching him.

You still don't have any teeth!

You laugh sooooo hard at your big sister!!!  

You are so sweet and happy.  The only time that you really cry is if you are tired.

You still have the most kissable cheeks of ALL TIME.

Weekend in Olive Branch

A few weeks ago when Robert had his second interview in Memphis, we all went up and stayed with Brad, Julie, Connor, and Brody.  They were so sweet to host us...and at the last minute!

Aunt Julie kept the big kids busy with all sorts of FUN activities!

On Friday night Robert and I got a special TREAT!  We went out to eat and to Target with no kiddos.  That is my idea of a romantic evening. :)  We really appreciated the break and a chance to talk about our big decision with no interruptions!

Saturday night we went out to eat to celebrate MiMi's birthday.  Then we enjoyed cake and icecream at Daniel and Laura's house.

Our Big News

We've had A LOT going on around our house lately.  Our news is NOT that we are having another baby. :) Maybe we will one day (or maybe not) but it's definitely not right now!  Robert has started a new job in Bartlett, TN. So, that obviously means that we are moving!  I have such mixed emotions about it!  I love this little town of Starkville (I never thought I would say that!) and I love my Mama friends I have made over the last few years, but job wise and just future in general...this is a great step for us.  

Robert started his job on Monday.  He's living with his parents (about 30 or 45 minutes away from his new job) and the girls and I are staying here to sell our house.  This is a VERY challenging time but I know it will be worth it!  And if nothing else, I'll be pretty tough after it's all over. :)  Being without Robert is super hard for me but it's actually going much better than I expected!  And that is even considering Finley has been really sick this week and we have been home-bound because of canceled school and icy weather!  I figure the weeks can only get better from this point on. :)  Before I go on and sound super strong, believe me when I say that there have been hard moments and I have shed a few tears...but overall it's gone really well.  Our prayer is that this time will be short and that we'll be together again SOON! 

These sweet girls are keeping me busy but we are all missing Daddy!

Hopefully I will find time to keep blogging during this crazy adventure!
