First Day of School 2014

Our new school started the Tuesday after Labor Day.  I got a job at a Mother's Day Out at a local church.  We go on T/Th from 9:00-2:00.  Around here most part-time places go until 2:00 with a naptime and you bring your own lunch.  It's very different from what we are use to but I think we've adapted!

Ellington was SOOOOO ready for her first day of Pre-K 4 MDO!  She wasn't the least bit nervous and just jumped right in.  I am so proud of her and the way she just rolls with whatever comes her way!  She was most excited about taking her lunch box and her nap mat. :)  Her teacher is Mrs. Belinda and she is WONDERFUL!

I, of course, was A NERVOUS WRECK about leaving Finley.  She still cries every.single.Sunday.morning.  I didn't know how in the world she would make it without me from 9-2!  Not to mention because we were in a totally new school, I wouldn't know her teacher.  I prayed lots and lots and lots.  And then I prayed some more.  The first few days were a little hard but honestly MUCH better than I expected.  Her teacher, Mrs. Martha is amazing.  Finley loves her so much and I know that she is being well taken care of.  It's Martha's first year at this school too and it's been a pleasure getting to know her!

I still miss our old school in Starkville more than I even have words for.  I honestly try not to think about it because it puts an instant lump in my throat.  That was our home and those sweet people (not just co-works but other families as well) loved us dearly and the feeling was mutual.  There were several precious ladies that treated my girls like their own grandchildren.  But having said that, I do feel blessed by our current school and I absolutely love Ellington and Finley's teachers and am thankful for them every day!

I was looking back through my pictures and I realized I hardly have any of August! I guess it was just hot and we were stuck inside?!  So, here is a short post of August.  Honestly...I have no clue what we did in August! :)

Ellington made Finley some necklaces and Finley wore them proudly!

Matchy matchy for church.  Cuties!

She loves it MOST when she gets to play with Ellington's toys!!!

Ellington started soccer through our church in August.  She just had practices in August...with games on Saturdays in September and October.  She was SOOOO excited the first week!

It looks like we braved the Mississippi August heat at some point.  I am sure it didn't last long!

And well...that's about it!  At least posting about a whole month in one post will help me maybe get caught up a little faster!

The Fair 2014 {Part 4}

This is my last fair post!  I might get all caught up one day! :)

These sweet girls spent a little time playing together on the porch!

Aunt Reagan did a little reading to Ellington, Emerson, and Gus :)

Finley had the BEST time at the fair!!!

Aunt Reagan did double duty!

On the last night we went to the racetrack to see the acrobats!

After the acrobat show we headed to the midway for one last time!  Guess who we met there?!  Daddy!!!  He had to leave and work during the week but he came back on Friday night.  We were all happy to see him!

I did not notice him when we were there, but I did when I uploaded this picture.  Look!  It's Santa!

Thumbs up for a GREAT fair!

This was the first year that Ellington and Emerson rode a "big kid" ride.  They loooooved it!!!!!

We had a WONDERFUL fair week and as always, we are already looking forward to next time!  I am so thankful we have this special place to make so many wonderful memories!

The Fair 2014 {Part 3}

It really can't be said too much that these two had the BEST week together!

Monday morning was the clothesline art show.  We finally got smart and brought our own art supplies.  It's always such a pain trying to find art supplies there because so many kids are using them!  Having our own made it MUCH less stressful!  (Side note about that...another Mom accused me of "cheating".  Um, what?!  The kids are doing art....for FUN.  We brought paint.  There is paint there available for anyone.  Calm down.  It really really annoyed me!)

Ellington and Emerson learned to shell peas!  They loved doing it.  Ha!  :)

After they finished helping Aunt Reagan, they went to help Uncle Bryant and Aunt LeAnna.

Later in the afternoon we went back to the square to check out the artwork.  Here's Finley's!

And here's Ellington's!

Busy playing!

Monday evening we did a little water playing.
