Birthday Eve

That's right...we're so much fun around the Connerley house we also celebrate Birthday Eve! :) Awhile back Robert decided to take off the day before Ellington's birthday to help me get ready and so that he would be able to be off Saturday too with no problem. (If he is off on Friday he isn't expected to be at work on Saturday if overtime gets scheduled.) I had been planning on working my usual Friday morning and then doing all that needed to be done in the afternoon. Robert talked me into getting a substitute and taking the day off too. I was SO GLAD I did!!! We had the best day together and enjoyed it so much. Now that we are all together so rarely, it is such a treat and a blessing when we are together. We were able to be together and get stuff done at a much more relaxed pace than if we had to cram it all into the afternoon.

364 Days Old :)

We started off the morning with a trip to Shipley's Donuts. I thought it would be fun to have a little birthday tradition of going there on her birthday and getting a doughnut with sprinkles. Well, her birthday fell on a game day and the game was at 11:00 a.m. so Shipley's would be PACKED on her actual birthday...not to mention the fact that we were having an early birthday party so we wouldn't really have time. So, we decided to go the day before her birthday!

This was for picture purposes only. :) We didn't let her just dive in! Maybe next year. :)

Yummy doughnut!

This is Ellington's new favorite spot at our house.

We spent the rest of the day getting ready for the big party! After Ellington was asleep Friday night we had a babysitter (Hey Lauren!) come over and stay with Ellington while Robert and I went out to eat. We went to the same restaurant that we went to exactly a year before...the night before Ellington was born. This time I didn't have contractions the whole meal. That made it much more enjoyable!!! It was really fun to have that time to just be able to sit and talk with Robert and reminisce about the past year!

  1. So thankful you had a good day together. You all are such good parents. Ellington is a very fortunate young lady.
