21 Months

Ellington, you turned 21 months on July 2nd! You are getting so big and more like a little girl and less like a baby every day. We are loving this stage of your life! You amaze us EVERY day!!!

Ellington, what are you up to at 21 months old?

• You wear size 24 months and 2T clothes
• You go to bed around 7:30 pm and wake up around 7:00 am
• You love to eat and are a little more willing to try new things...still no vegetables though (unless they are in soup and then you LOVE it!)
• You love to line things up and count them.  You say "one two one two" over and over.
• You have gotten into cleaning up!  You say "clean up" and then get busy.  What a big girl!
• You still speak mostly in two word phrases, but you will occasionally string more words together
• You have an AMAZING sense of direction
• You are pretty sensitive.  There is an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that we don't let you watch anymore because when this little baby bear cries you start crying too!!!  You just cry and cry and say, "Bear sad.  Crying." over and over.  Such a tender heart you have!
• Speaking of Mickey....you LOVE Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, and Goofy!!!  You just started being willing to sit and watch a 20 minute show.  Mama might be a little happy about that. :)
• You look for ponds when we drive and then get so excited when you see one.  The second you spot one you say, "Look other pond"...meaning you want to look for another one!  
• You say "Mama helping" when you get to the bottom of something you are eating (yogurt, applesauce, etc.) when you need help getting the last few bites out of the bowl.  I think it's precious that you are willing to admit (at almost 2 year old) that you can only do it yourself so long and then you need Mama's help. :)
• You are PRECIOUS right before bed.  You sit in my lap while we read Goodnight Moon.  Daddy sits on the ottoman and after we read he prays.  Then you put your arms on Daddy's face and give him a kiss.  Then you push Daddy's face over to mine so he can kiss me! :)  You do this over and over several times.  It's sooooo sweet!
• You do an amazing job singing the ABCs!!!  It is adorable.  You are still very into letters and can correctly identify several.
• You also like to sing parts of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, The Wheels on the Bus, and Jesus Loves Me
• You have started throwing fits. :(  I guess it was inevitable, but I was kind of hoping we would have the only toddler to never throw fits. :)
• You had a BLAST on our recent beach trip and you talk about it frequently.  

Ellington, you are our precious baby girl and we love being your parents!
