Finley's Birth

We had a scheduled csection on Tuesday July 2.  It was something I went back and forth about for months and months.  At our last doctor's appt. I finally decided a csection would be what we would do. I know for some people that is a crazy decision (choosing major surgery over birthing the way our bodies were designed) but based on Ellington's birth I thought it would be best for us.  And I am SO glad we went this route.  The whole experience was soooo much better than last time.  I know for us it was the right decision.

Even though it was the right decision for us, I was VERY nervous!  The wait before surgery was pure torture.  I was so so scared!  I was confident that everything would be fine but I just didn't know what to expect.  The team in the room was AMAZING.  The nurse and anesthesiologist were especially wonderful.  They were so sweet and kept reassuring me that everything would be ok and that everything was fine.  They were precious and treated me so well.  I just wanted to know that Finley was out and ok.  I must have asked them a million times how much longer it would be (even though it didn't take very long!).  Finally she was out and it was a wonderful moment!  One of the things I remember very vividly was telling Robert very frantically to go over to where Finley was to be with her and take pictures.

What I would say is one down side of a csection is that I don't remember anything after she was born.  I guess they upped my pain meds.  I remember her being born and telling Robert to be with her and that's about it.  I don't remember the pictures below at all. :(

No one could believe she only weighed 7 lbs 11 oz since Ellington was 9 lbs 5 oz!

Ya'll see the baby nurse below?  She is my FAVE!  We had her most days that we were there and she was truly amazing.  If I saw her right now I might cry.  That's how much I love her.  Having a wonderful nurse is an amazing thing!!!  She helped us so much and she took such great care of Finley!

Finley's first bath.  Word is, she screamed a lot! :)

With my sweet girl :)

Everything went really well and the recovery was SO much easier than it was when I had Ellington.  Stay tuned for more hospital pictures!
