This is my sweet nephew who was born yesterday on my birthday! Want to hear the story?! Yeah, I thought so. It's your lucky day because I will tell you all about it! So...yesterday was my birthday and I must admit that I was REALLY down about my birthday. Robert had been told that he would start back on 3rd shift this week, so I was going to get a fantastic present...my husband back!!! Well, that didn't happen so I was going to be alone on my birthday. Well, technically not alone. Ellington would be with me but she's kind of a lot of work. :) So, yesterday morning I get up (as a new 26 year old) and get ready for work. After I got out of the shower I had a text from my mom asking if I had heard from my brother Bryant. I called my mom and found out that LeAnna's water had broken. This was much to my surprise because her due date wasn't until December 20th. I was SOOO excited! So I wake up Robert and start running around the house like a crazy person in labor. Ha! I kept halfway doing a million things and getting nothing done! We decided that I would go on to Jackson and that Robert would take off work so that he could keep Ellington. Then we decided that if he was going to take off work anyway we might as well all go. So that's what we did!!! So instead of spending my birthday all alone I got to be with my WHOLE family AND get a new member of the family. How awesome is that?! So anyway, here are a few pictures from our day!
Grams and Aunt Reagan in the waiting room.
Robert and Ellington shared a frosty in the late afternoon for a little pick-me-up! Ellington LOVED it!
I made this "Big Cousin" shirt for Ellington, but because Emerson came earlier than expected I hadn't completed it yet. I still need to stitch around the letters.
As you can tell I was soooo excited! I have never been at the hospital for a baby's birth before (other than Ellington's obviously!) so this was a super fun experience for me!!!
This is my FAVORITE picture! When I took it I was just trying to get a picture of Ellington looking in, but later I realized I was able to get them both in the shot! So sweet!
I didn't think we would get a chance to hold Emerson last night so we left after we got to watch him through the nursery window for awhile. Ellington was SO SO tired at this point! She fell asleep about 2 minutes after I took this picture.
It was a wonderful day. I am so glad that it turned out to be a good birthday for you. You and Emerson will always have a special connection since you share the same birthday. What were the odds that he would have been born on your birthday?
